On 8 May 2023, Yang Wensheng, the deputy director of the Bureau of Retired Cadres in the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, and president of Shanxi University for the Aged, along with Qi Liping, the secretary of the Party Committee of Shanxi Open University, led a delegation to visit the Open University of China (OUC), also known as the Seniors University of China (SUC).

On 25 April 2023, a delegation led by Zhang Chi, the deputy director-general of the Department of Civil Affairs of Jilin Province and member of its Leading Party Group, visited the Open University of China (OUC), also known as the Seniors University of China (SUC), to attend a symposium on advancing high-quality development of senior education.

From 17th to 21st April 2023, the Open University of China (OUC) organised a full-time training programme in Xiamen for teachers of accounting and financial management, aimed at developing a team of "dual-qualification" teachers, promoting industry-education integration, enhancing practical skills of teachers in related majors, and supporting the construction of a digital university.

A special seminar was recently given by Professor Pang Zhonghua, a distinguished visiting professor at the Open University of China (OUC) and a famous hard-pen calligrapher in China.

On 17 April 2023, a delegation led by Professor Li Kam-cheong from Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) visited the Open University of China (OUC).

On the morning of 15th April 2023, at 10:00 am, the "OUC Open Lectures • National Security Education Open Course" was broadcasted on China Central Television (CCTV).

On 4th April 2023, in order to enhance the Open University of China's ability to train high-level talent and conduct scientific research, a delegation led by the school's Party Committee member and vice president Fan Xianrui went to Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST) to exchange and discuss ideas.

In order to implement the important deployment of deepening the national reading activity as stated in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, guide the faculty and staff to love reading, read good books, read effectively, inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the advanced socialist culture, inspire the innovation and creativity of the faculty and students, and help promote the high-quality development of the university, the Open University of China (OUC) will launch the Reading Month activities from mid-April to mid-May according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education.
