On 23 May 2023, a delegation of four members headed by Dr. Teng Waninga, the vice chancellor of the University of Goroka (UOG) in Papua New Guinea, visited the Open University of China (OUC).

On 10 April 2023, a delegation consisting of the leaders of four Sri Lankan universities, including the University of Colombo, the University of Peradeniya, the University of Kelaniya, and the University of Ruhuna, as well as the deans of their respective colleges, visited the Open University of China (OUC).

Recently, a joint application submitted by the Open University of China (OUC) and Anadolu University in Turkey for an EU’s Erasmus+ project was approved, marking the first time that OUC has been granted a fund from this programme.

Recently, the project “Fostering Digital Competency, Building Re-Employment Capacity, and Enhancing Well-being for Older Adults in the Digital Economy” for international exchanges and cooperation as approved by the 2022 Budget and Management Committee of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

The International Department of the Open University of China (OUC) and the Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE) of the University of London (UoL) came together on 21 September 2022 to introduce the 2022 - 2023 Online Professional Development Course.

Since 2016, the Open University of China (OUC) has been committed to exploring the construction of overseas learning centres in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Party and the State Council to provide open education outside China as part of the Belt and Road Initiatives.
