Helge Hoivik is a Professor at Oslo University College, and director of the Latina Lab. He has been devoted to the design and research of digital learning materials since the 1980s. He was previously awarded a Fulbright Scholarship by the U.S. Government. His main areas of research include mobile learning, e-textbooks, cloud computing, blended learning and teaching research and development based on MOOCs, and the research and development of game-based education software. 

Oslo University College’s Latina Lab has held a number of international digital learning training courses for university teachers and students since 2008. The majority of the courses were designed and given by Professor Hoivik. He has also hosted and led a number of international cooperation projects including UNESCO’s Latina 4 Palestine and the European Union’s Latina Africa project. 

In September 2013, Prof. Helge Hoivik was hired by the OUC as senior consultant to the Engineering Research Centre for Technology Integration and Application of E-Learning, Ministry of Education.
