Yuan Wei, associate professor, is course leader for the OUC’s Operating System (undergraduate) course. She graduated with a master’s degree from the College of Computer Science and Technology at Jilin University in 1997. From March to July 2003, she was a visiting scholar at Sheffield Hallam University, UK. She is also a member of the 8th Council of the Simulation Application Association of the China Computer Users Association.

She is now director of the OUC Faculty of Science and Engineering; principal of the computer science and technology programme; and course leader for the Operating Systems and Information System Testing course. She has published over 10 papers and participated in seven scientific research projects.

 

In 2006, she won gold in the first “ RTVU ODE Online Teaching Award”.

In 2008, the “Research and Practice of the Reform of Computer Subject Education and Teaching in Open and Distance Education” she participated in won first prize for CCRTVU Education and Teaching Achievements.

Due to her remarkable performance and achievements during the period 2006-2009, she was named a “CCRTVU Excellent Tutor”.

In 2010, she won the fourth “RTVU Teaching Innovation Award”.
